A key element of the AWIM program incorporates the use of volunteers from varying math and science fields in the classroom. Volunteers who work in the math and/or science fields are a valuable asset to students and teachers as they can provide students with an awareness of the STEM professions, as well as, act as a content support expert for the teacher. If you have (or can find) a volunteer who will commit to assisting in the classroom during a challenge you will be eligible for a 25% savings on the cost of curriculum and classroom materials.
